Hosting Requirements
Hosts are responsible for reviewing all posts that are submitted to the carnival and they are also responsible for searching their blog circle for the best posts since the last carnival. The point of the carnival is to highlight the best articles of the week, not just the best articles from the submissions. Submissions are designed mainly to give writers the ability to make sure that the host reads their article. Submissions are due by 7:00pm EST and the Carnival goes live Monday morning.
The host will then proceed to decide on the 5 or 6 best posts. If the host selects to few posts the carnival will not provide enough choice for the diversity in the reader base. If the host selects too many posts it would defeat one of the main purpose of TopBlogPosts.net, article filtering. The host will objectively select only the premium posts. If possible the host should try to select posts that cover a broad range of topics in the niche without sacrificing quality. The host is free to select one of their posts if they are positive it ranks as one of the best. Voters will be a little suspicious so make sure you are confident.
The next step will be to email the Top Blog Posts your selections by about 9pm on Sunday night so that the poll widget can be created. The poll hosting code will be emailed back to you on Sunday night so that you can include it in the carnival post that will go live on the host’s site Monday morning. The host is free to introduce the carnival however they want. They are not required to have a topic or theme, but only need to include the proper carnival number. They can even justify or introduce the posts if they want. That’s it, other than encouraging your circle of influence to vote.
After the winner is announced the following weekend, the host will then update the article or create a new post to announce the winner.
