About

The Carnival Of Top Blog Posts is an updated take on the Blog Carnival.  As blogging niches become saturated, blog carnivals are becoming overwhelming to read.  The idea of the Top Blog Posts Carnival is that the host will select the top posts from the submissions and create a poll with links to the article and a short description of why the article is great.  This poll can then be shared with all bloggers in the relevant niche so that their readers can vote which article is the best. Code will be available to put the selection poll on your site or in your sidebar.  After a week of voting the best blog post is crowned by the readers.

TopBlogPosts.net Objectives:

  • Be a reader controlled filtering service for the fire-hose that can be a normal blog carnival.  Instead of great links being lost within the hundreds of posts, only the best are highlighted
  • Make it easier for readers to connect with the best content
  • Draw more attention to the authors that are writing the best content
  • Make carnival content easily and instantly sharable across all blogs
  • Provide more traffic for the best articles
  • Encourage bloggers to become better writers by keeping them in tune with the content and writing styles that are the most pleasing to blog readers
  • Monetarily reward the best content by giving a portion of the website’s revenue and/or prizes to the winners.  This a future goal that will take a little while to work out the specifics.

At the end of the voting period a ‘winner’ will be named and given the Blog Topper award for the week.  The author will be presented with a unique award image that they can add to their post.

Site

The site is broken up by categories.  Click on a category in sidebar to navigate to a category’s homepage.  The category homepage will detail the specifics of the selected carnival like past carnivals posts, hosting schedules, links, and other carnival specific details.   Ideally, each topically carnival will have its own organizer.  As the carnivals grow the site will be updated accordingly to make everything as straightforward as possible.  Submissions are currently being handled by BlogCarnival.com.  Each category homepage will have a link to its submission page.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or are interested in starting a topical carnival, feel free to use the Contact Page.
